My Journey to You
From a very young age, I knew I wanted to work with pre-teens and young adults. I studied Special Education in college, with a minor in Child Psychology. I was fortunate to spend two years working with children who have developmental disabilities and children with autism. After college, I worked at a summer school for boys, teaching 1st grade. There was one adorable young boy who appeared deflated. I later learned that he came from an abusive home life, which is heartbreaking. No child should ever have to endure what he experienced. As his teacher, we interacted daily, and I often find myself thinking about him, and wish I had the tools and knowledge back then that I have today; perhaps I could have made his life easier. This young boy made a significant impression on me and helped shape my career path.
After the birth of my two daughters, I began coaching figure skating in 1990. With 35 years of coaching experience, I have obtained many credentials, developed leadership skills, and grown in various aspects of the sport. My skaters competed at sectionals, junior nationals, national, and even the Junior Olympics in 1998. My success as a coach comes from fostering my skaters' commitment to goal-setting and accepting challenges, which built their determination, confidence, and belief in themselves. The journey wasn't easy, but their achievements speak volumes.
Life coaching has taken my career in a new direction. I now focus on both Personal Development and Sports Performance coaching. I am excited to work again with pre-teens and young adults in these challenging areas. I tailor my guidance to meet each client’s unique needs, employing original creativity that aligns with self-expression. I bring patience, empathy, and authenticity to my coaching. I strive to create a safe space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings.
Fearlessly Resilient, my go to saying created by two powerful words that when paired together create a purposeful statement. When I say Fearlessly Resilient here’s what I mean; it provides the ability to face challenges and bounce back from adversity with courage and determination, without being paralyzed by fear. My goal is that my clients will resonate with these words and hopefully be inspired to carry this phrase and meaning throughout life.
“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
